Sainsbos online ordering - request slicing,

(Completing an order for a friend, and the Sainsbot is even worse than in 2020.)

Anyone know off the top of their head if it's possible to request an in store bakery item for an online shop. It has it's own barcode.

TIA xx🙏

To answer my own question, in the words of customer service "You are having a laugh aren't you ?"

When I assured them I was not, the investigation (which took a day) returned an answer "definitely not."

It's probably to stop the returns of too thick/thin etc?

You're going to get shade thrown on you on here for saying 'Sainsbos' @TodaysNameChange 😆

Also, no idea if you can order sliced bread online. I would imagine not. As the pp said, too many people would complain it wasn't done right.

Chance’d be a fine thing! We can’t even get it done instore at our branch these days.

I order from another supermarket and their in store bakery items are only for deliveries in the afternoons onwards (presumably they are baked in the morning so it’s not possible for morning deliveries)

There are only 2 choices anyway. Medium and thick.

Deleted my post because I didn’t read the title.

Apologies for the photo.

why - it's almost as if I don't care 😀

Anyway, you can't get it sliced instore. And from the tone of the nice person on the online helpline (don't ask) it's a mystery as to why anyone would have thought otherwise. And having had to navigate the online store, I can see their point.

I'll help my friend again if they need. But they might change supermarkets first.

I suspect the instore bakery may go the way of the meat counter and the deli, given my friends luck. They were her main reasons for shopping there.

They are a business. If people wanted it and it was profitable then I'm sure they would do it
