M&S collect in store gone from next day to 2 weeks

What's going on? Usually when I try to collect clothes in store it's a day or two until I can collect. I need some school trousers for my son, and the next collection slot is nearly 2 weeks away, delivery not much better. Have they changed their policy?

Maybe they're just out of stock?

I found this with M&S earlier in the year. I paid for next day delivery and it arrived two weeks later. In that time, I'd ordered from Next, that was next day, and I took the M&S order, unopened, back to the store and asked for a refund.

Their latest sale started a few days ago so they are likely a bit backed up with deliveries.
