Scam on Vinted?

TangerinePlate · 23/09/2024 06:27

Just looked at few items on Vinted. Twice came across the same item (winter jacket),same photos in home surroundings, different seller,0 reviews.
Seems legit but something’s off including seller’s name.
Initially bought the jacket then when came across the same one being sold by somebody else I cancelled the order.

Any thoughts? How does it work and is there anything to be aware of?
Obviously if something’s too good to be true then it is.

It’s not just the jacket, also bag and shoes. Nothing from high end designer stuff-Mountain Warehouse,Kipling and Rieker.

Usually it's a xfdgtreae type name
Zero reviews and cheap for the item

They produce a label, send an empty package ,say its been sent and rely on a few people being away so after 2 days the transaction goes through.
If it looks dodgy it usually is.
I always check feedback before buying these days and block any buyers with poor feedback who make silly offers, not worth the hassle.
Had a seller once with multiple cancelled orders who tried to get me to buy outside of vinted ,another who kept insisting the parcel had been sent.
I checked inpost and it hadn't.
I only offer evri now as it's tracked
