Hi I am pulling
my hair out here going round in circles and wonder if anyone could advise me.
I have never really sold anything on eBay much but do buy from there, but I sold one of the children’s game console at the start of September. I posted using Royal Mail 48 where I just had to show qr code in post office and that updated tracking etc automatically. I seen that it said dispatched but never noticed it change to delivered but the buyer has come back to say and opened a case that it hasn’t been delivered. Tracking is showing that it’s at a postal hub near to the area the buyer is from but it looks like it’s been there for well over a week. EBay has said I have 4 days to resolve but I don’t know how to resolve so I just have to refund the buyer even though there’s proof I dispatched? Any help would be so appreciated thank you

If you’ve got four days, can you wait a coup my e more, or give the post office a ring. If not delivered or lost, can you get compensation, especially as not delivered in 48 hour timeframe?

Spenditlikebeckham · 21/09/2024 22:45

My dh got his money back when a customer simply hadn't collected the item from the post office... Send pics of the proof they haven't collected it. Dh spoke to an actual human at ebay...

Get as much proof as possible, screenshots stating delivery has happened, etc because eBay usually decides in favour of the buyer, rightly or wrongly.
You can eventually get hold of a real person from eBay but it can be a long process.
Hope you get it sorted, I can't stand ppl pretending the delivery didn't arrive it's (usually) just dishonesty

i find buying so much easier on eBay as I cannot get to speak to someone at all. It looks more like it’s at a hub and they have t tried to deliver. I’ve been going round in circles when all I wanted was to talk to eBay customer services and all the articles say basically if eBay have to step in it could effect my seller status which I suppose given this experience I’m not keen on doing again anyways but the only options in resolve issue is contact buyer, refund buyer and I did contact to ask if that hub was near them etc and they said normally it goes into that hub and then sent to their local parcel shop which hasn’t happened so it looks like the only option is refund and then try to ask Royal Mail for compensation

Go to your eBay
Scroll to the bottom to account
Choose help it will take you to your recent orders
Go to help and contact
Choose order that hasn't arrived
There's also a chat function when you get there

@dif ignore this

@Twinsandsome did you get anywhere?

Twinsandsome · 22/09/2024 20:35

What you told me was helpful
but I still can’t get chatting with a person just a robot type virtual assistant. I have the proof that I posted but likewise the buyer has not recieved their item so I just don’t know whether eBay covers the cost or even though tracking shows I posted, I still
have to refund. Honestly I wish I’d never started this whole thing. Thank you again but for those screen shots they where very helpful

I find eBay so irritating when thinks go wrong, a friend is a business seller, I can ask if they know anything better

Thistooshallpass24 · 22/09/2024 21:09

This might help?

Could anyone advise me please
Twinsandsome · 22/09/2024 21:14

Thank you so so much! Yes I always buy bits on it and then seen a couple of games consoles and thought the girls don’t use those any more so stuck them on and now I’d have been better off giving them into the charity shop as it’s causing me a headache trying to solve this even though there’s proof I posted. Anyways I’ll start again in the morning to see if I get anywhere with that link but honestly thank you for all your help and never again

If that doesn't work, pm me and I'll ask my friend (again, I've sent a message)

Thistooshallpass24 · 23/09/2024 17:49

Hey @Twinsandsome did you get sorted? My friend sent me the same screen shot I sent you on here

Twinsandsome · 27/09/2024 21:51

Oh my goodness @Thistooshallpass24 im that poster which I hate when the OP doesn’t come back and finish their story etc but I didn’t mean to I mentally replied!

outcome was since the item wasn’t delivered it’s been deemed lost even though there is the proof of postage, tracking info etc etc I had to give a full refund and am actually out money because sellers fees took such a large proportion in comparison to the money I got and yet I had to refund the total
amount including postage. Anyways lesson learnt just give the children’s stuff to charity for a good home and save myself this headache.

it has definitely given me a new perspective for those selling on eBay that I buy from it’s not all that easy so I will make sure I keep given those I buy from good feedback etc to help them

thank you so much for going above and beyond with your responses xx

Hey @Twinsandsome that's appalling! eBay can be shit, I agree their percentage take is ridiculous when they really don't help the sellers if theres an issue. Is there any way you can appeal?
Will the item come back to you? If it does do you have any community selling pages? I'm annoyed on your behalf

Twinsandsome · 27/09/2024 22:01

No apparently the item is lost at Home Counties depot. They’ve told
me to try and claim from Royal Mail but honestly I think I just have to cut my losses and look at it that it was good to get rid of some clutter from the playroom rather than a loss.

@Twinsandsome bloody hell! That's shit I'd claim ( I'm petty when pushed, not my best trait, I've rage claimed money back several times) you've paid for a service and ( got screwed) they didn't fulfil it
