If you had saved your money instead of going to the sweetshop so often you would be a billionaire by now on the compound interest alone.

ObieJoyful · 21/09/2024 20:46

Never drink alcohol.

Start your pension young.

Have integrity in all matters.

Bonbon21 · 21/09/2024 20:50

Don't worry so much , learn the enjoy the moment instead of constantly worry about what is coming next. Relax more and don't take life so seriously.

Eyerollexpert · 21/09/2024 20:55

Don't listen to your mother.

chillycat · 21/09/2024 21:20

Don't worry about trying to fit in. Be yourself and embrace it, people will either like you or they won't and that's the same for everyone - fat, thin; funny, serious; party going, head in a book.

Neeeeeext · 21/09/2024 21:24

Don't let opportunities pass you by out of fear.

UghFletcher · 21/09/2024 21:24

Look after your teeth
Don't take up less space to appease others
Go for that job, you're good enough

Pudmyboy · 21/09/2024 21:25

Male family members do not have your best interests at heart and see you as a future maid/housekeeper/carer only so don't trust their advice (wish I had been told this aged 12-14 yrs to help with life plans)

Mysa74 · 21/09/2024 21:26

Buy lots of property - it is 2000, this is London, they are giving out mortgages like smarties and no, property is not going to fall in value.

TheActualDuck · 21/09/2024 21:27

Don't spend your thin years thinking you're fat.

Hotdogsarevile · 21/09/2024 21:30

To love myself just as I am, and not constantly search for the unattainable that will “finally” make you happy.

Docugirl · 21/09/2024 21:30

Don't focus on your weaknesses, everyone has them.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 21/09/2024 21:31

You don't have to propose to him just be cause you've fallen in love. Chill.

rosyandjimm · 21/09/2024 21:36

Stop worrying and overthinking everything. Just try and relax a bit more.

BedBathAndBeyonce · 21/09/2024 21:37

Have a budget.
Pay yourself first.
Spend less than you earn.
Don’t buy anything you can’t afford to pay for outright (even if you take out 0% finance, always have the funds to offset should you need to).
Prioritise pension.
Pay down mortgage and invest aggressively.
Never lend more than you could afford to never see again (if at all possible, just give it to the person).

Whilst I didn’t learn any of this until midlife, I am fortunate I did finally learn these things after a shitty abusive divorce and before it was too late. I’m steadily increasing my net worth and I’m very comfortable.
