Tasty food for a weekend away in Bath - any recommendations?

We’re planning an anniversary trip to Bath next month and I am busy looking for delicious things to eat. One Saturday night and one Sunday which could be a roast dinner but not 100% necessary. Does anyone have any recommendations please? We eat anything, prefer to support independents and are prepared to spend for something special but are equally at home with the worlds greatest fish and chips or something.
Thanks in advance.

Highly recommend Sotto Sotto for your meal on thw Saturday evening. Make sure you prebook though.

Sadly Sotto Sotto is fully booked. Anywhere else on your list?

We liked The Circus for a fancy meal and the Chequers pub round the corner for a drink (but I think it also does good food)

Chequers does an amazing Sunday roast.

Another vote for Sotto Sotto, and definitely Clayton's Kitchen for Sunday lunch.

Chez Dominique is lovely for lunch
Also loved Sotto Sotto, ( if all you can get is a last minute cancellation the 5.30 sitting grab it ) there's lots of lovely bars to go afterwards

Yes!! Chequers was the place we all went to as teens/20-somethings for Sunday roast two decades ago - tried it again recently on a trip back and it was still just as good! 😋

How about the First Dates restaurant OP if you're after romance? No idea what it's actually like though haha

Eight is a lovely restaurant, part of a hotel I think. We had a fab meal there a couple of years ago.

I'd recommend Bonghy Bo for lunch on the Saturday, it's Asian fusion food and really very very good (another throwback to my younger days which has only got better over time 😅)

Clayton's Kitchen, The Architect, again Sotto Sotto! X

Wow! Amazing that Bonghy Bo is still there. I used to go regularly as a teenager in the late eighties/early nineties. Happy memories of sitting in the courtyard.

Thank you everyone - I’ve booked the Beckford bottle shop for the Saturday evening and Chequers for Sunday lunch. With an eye on the Scallop Shell or Corkage for some cheeky snacks on Saturday lunchtime.
We’re thinking of a trip to the spa baths too - are they lovely or a tourist hell trap full of hen weekends? Don’t want to spend for it and be disappointed.
Thanks all for your excellent advice - it looks like we’ll need to return to Bath to have a go at all the other delicious places you recommended.

I was underwhelmed by the spa. It was fairly crowded but don’t remember it being Hen parties especially ( but I’m not certain it was a weekend). I'm glad I went but wouldn’t go back.
