M&S evening meal

I'm going to M&S today to get some nice food for tonight, main course for 2 adults, can anybody recommend a meal from there for me? We don't eat fish and preferably not steak. What's good? I usually go for steak but they do so many lovely things I need some suggestions! Thanks!

I like the steak pie they do in the pub grub section.

Do a starter - their runny scotch eggs are amazing. I wouldn’t care but I don’t even like scotch eggs, but those are so tasty.

Last time we got dinner from there, I got a pack of their boil in the bag mussels and some nice crusty bread to go with it.

The Gastropub deal is good. £12.00 for main, side and starter or dessert. I think the offer is still running.

I like their Asian range, especially the Thai curries

I agree with lots of the above. The Gastropub deal with the scotch egg starter and chicken kyiv main is really good!

If you get something else and need some nibbles, their sweet potato tortilla chips and mexican layered dip are awesome.

Second the gastro pub chicken Kyiv!

If you get the Kyiv I saw a great tip. Put the Kyiv on a slice of bread when cooking and if butter oozes out you get a free garlic bread !

I cook my Kiev’s on bread but it still has a soggy bottom, whereas I’d like it all crispy. Perhaps a small rack would be better 🤔

Have a look at their current Meal Deal before you decide, they are usually good value.
Or the Chicken Cordon Bleu is very tasty, they do some nice duck meals also, Slow Cooked duck legs or duck with plum sauce.

As an addition, if they have a fresh bakery bit, get an olive roll and serve it with a bit of salted butter.

Or Chinese fakeaway box for 2, and a bag of prawn crackers.

Both are our goto for a lazy Sat night dinner ... oven, plate, eat.

Gastropub meal deal for £12
The best ever macaroni cheese. Wouldn't usually pay that much for pasta but it is actually incredible.
We also have the chips in goose fat and sticky toffee pudding

Gastropub fish pie. Best ever, really chunky bits of fish. Such a treat.

Slow cooked middle eastern lamb shoulder, flatbread and salads.

They don’t have wine in that package so its a no from me! I prefer tesco for the same amount. Chicken in Prosecco is lush!

Fresh pasta and sauce, garlic bread from the freezer in the bakery section.
