Nasal flu and newborn

Not sure what to do!

3 year old booked in for nasal flu on Monday 23rd.
I am booked in for c-section Tuesday 24th.
I have just had a thought about ‘shedding’, will the newborn be at risk? Am I best rebooking for a few weeks time or is the risk minimal?
I wanted to get the flu vaccine myself to pass onto baby in breastfeeding, but my GP not doing it for that risk group until after baby born….grrr

What would you do?

It'll be fine. It's not a contraindication.
Your baby will be more at risk if your toddler brings flu home.
Practice nurse.

Make sure you've had your RSV vaccine and whooping cough vaccine

Pregnant women can get vaccinated from September (don’t have to wait until 3rd October like everyone else) but the chances of getting in on Monday are negligible!

Minimal risk of shedding, and only for the severely immunocompromised. Your newborn will be at very low risk.
