Has anyone purchased an older property?

Specifically with a well and a septic tank that had some damp?

I'm looking at purchasing something but need some guidance on what sort of survey I might need.

TIA!

My friend did, they and had a very extensive survey plus her DH is a builder. It’s still turned in to a money pit.

We almost did….then pulled out….it seemed too risky,,,,I’m not a risk taker…we still ended up buying an older house….1870s but no septic tank or damp…..the other house has since sold 3 times in 8 years…….and I do occasionally wonder why no one stays long, when I’m driving past

My late IL's had an old house with a well in the back garden.
It was no-longer used for the water supply so it was made safe and turned into a lovely period feature.
Still able to supply water, they just never used it for that.
