Child sweating

My son is 4 and he is sometimes really sweaty as he falls asleep then it seems to stop. I was worried as I know night sweats can be a symptom of something more serious but it doesn’t happen every single night. I don’t need to change what he’s wearing or anything he just seems to get really sweaty. Is anyone else’s little one the same?

Is he out of nappies and in cotton PJ’s/bedding? Is his room cool?

Surely it's just because he's warm? Is he wearing the right kind of clothes to bed?

There was a thread asking this question very recently. It really is very common. My daughter did when she was 3/4ish.

You know, been thinking the Internet fuels my health anxiety... I'm not blaming you, OP. I'm saying we're getting information that's making you worry your child has a serious illness instead of... just being a bit hot at night.

DD had this and maybe coincidental but it stopped completely when she became dry at night and we ditched the pull ups.

We changed a totally sweaty DD several times around that age.

The only thing which really made a difference was using only 100% cotton for pyjamas and bedding. Also, we had a wool duvet and pillow for her.

My DS is a sweaty little bugger when he sleeps and always has been, his head pours with sweat. My mum is the same so I have no idea whether it’s hereditary or not but he isn’t sick, just sweaty!

Dts sweated loads at that age, their hair was always damp at the back of their necks.
