Perhaps the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire needs his freebies because MPs aren’t paid enough. Or perhaps he’s just the knight commander of the most astonishing hypocrisy.

If she wore the same dress twice, the Mail would scream "Starmer let down UK on world stage with dress made in China"

Perhaps they could lead the way in supporting British designers and manufacturing and promote a greener ethos.

Yes when Sunak avoided 100s of 1000s in tax on his US investments & spent £8m of our money on a helicopter, Tory supporters on here all cried "Politics of Envy and all within the rules"

When Starmer accepts a free Arsenal ticket and declares it, he is a corrupt criminal with no integrity.

The hypocrisy is staggering.

No the hypocrisy lies in Starmer calling out Tory corruption and promising to clean up politics but then accepting freebies.

See also the story about the 4 million pound donation to the Labour party from a Cayman Island (tax haven) registered hedge fund, accepted in a one week window which meant the public would not be made aware of it until after the election. A hedge fund with investments in fossil fuels, arms and private healthcare.

If a prime minister's wife has a very nice day dress, how many times should she wear it at a public event where she is accompanying him?

Why does the PM's wife need to hand hold him at public events? Do we elect people on a 2 for 1 basis?

You don't need all this stuff to do the job. It's not even her job it's his.

You can rent a dress for the top events. Far more sustainable

Ridiculous. He could have gone down the route of being a top lawyer in the private sector and earned at least 3x as much and got far more freebies, if he was in it for the money and freebies.

Well perhaps he should have gone down that route so he would have been free to indulge his impulses to hoover up everything he can. It is certainly inappropriate and grubby behaviour for a PM which sullies his who position.

Also FYI anyone in law, finance etc does most certainly NOT take freebies - there are very strict anti bribery rules that we all must adhere to or be sanctioned. So no, the pigs in trough behaviour from KA is in no way comparable to what a lawyer might do - the lawyer would be more honest, which is a very frightening thought.

They're out now. A pity you aren't so vocal about Starmer and co but you wouldn't be would you.

Lol I have been, highly critical.

Its the hypocrisy.

Yes we had very strict rules in private service industry on anti bribery etc

World leaders usually bring their partners to things like G7 etc , is it hand holding? or projecting GB on the world stage?

Do either need to go to a Taylor Swift concert? no, frankly there is an awful lot of these gifts he should be paying for himself.

Renting dresses? he'd be roasted by the media if she did that, no matter the sustainability of doing this.

Hatfullofwillow · 20/09/2024 09:26

I'm more concerned by the 4 million pound hedge fund donor. I told you he was a wrong un.

He did try to do both. Corbyn stopped him.

Utter rubbish.

Nope. Not rubbish at all. Free Gear Keir will hoover up any freebies coming his way. Corrupt dishonest cunt and his sponger wife.

Agree, i couldn't except anything at all, sales could but that was it.

However, Starmer nor people like Boris or Sunak have done anything against the rules.

So why are you up in arms at Starmer but not any previous Tory PM?

Could be as you said earlier "We are out now" so attack the opposition whatever they do is the name of the game.

Hypocrisy in deed.

How is taking your wife to a work event relevant when we're talking about global politics? Its like the WAG culture of the naughties.

This. He's a fucking hypocrite who campaigned on the idea that his "new Labour party" would be free of the revolting corruption shown by the Tories. He then gets into power and starts hoovering up freebies like there's no tomorrow. He exchanges freebies for access to downing street. . He can be bought. He can be bribed if you throw enough money at him. He's the definition of corrupt.

Exactly. They get a photo on the stairs sometimes. All of them with male partners

Sod that. As for headlines getting upset about a rented dress what is it with the fear of a headline. Look at what they've got now headlines coming out their ears.

And agree with the holier than thou arrogance @Julen7 Phillips sounded the same this morning

Exactly this. I voted for him and had such high hopes. I feel like I’ve been totally conned - we had one KS before the election making promises to protect the vulnerable and eradicate sleaze, then all change as soon as he is in power and we now see his sleaziness and dishonesty in full technicolour. I am furious. Lying, greedy hypocrite.

I’m so bored with these Tory propaganda threads. Every day there’s at least two. All I can say to the intern, who is doubtlessly posting them, is that I hope you’re actually getting paid for your efforts.

Lol. No Tory propaganda from me. I loathe the Tories as much as I do Labour.
