What the cosiest UK seaside hotel you've ever stayed in?

I LOVE a beach in the winter, and I'm dreaming of a stay in a cosy seaside hotel looking out to the sea. Think a cosy bar, a roaring fire, big comfy sofas to sink into whilst I look out to sea watching the waves crash with a dog at my feet! Which is the cosiest seaside hotel you've ever stayed in?

The Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa is rather lovely & might meet your criteria.

The Gallivant at Camber Sands is lovely

I don't like the winter very much but I like the sound of that set up. For me, it would have to be something olde worlde rather than slick and modern. Something with oak beams, a roaring fire and some interesting history behind it.

The Headland in Cornwall (the hotel in "The Witches").

I’d forgotten about this one! I actually stayed here years ago, and it was lovely! Thank you for the suggestion!

Call me strange but I actually love Cornwall in winter! This looks great, thank you so much!

The Grand Hotel Eastbourne is old fashioned and cosy to perfection 👌🏼

I've had afternoon tea at The Royal in Ventnor, IOW. Granted I did not see the accommodation, but it was lovely, and very Agatha Christie.

We stayed at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel last November and it was very much as you describe. We had a room with a sea view and could watch the waves crashing. It was glorious.

Oooh yes totally second that 😁

@Calmee

“The Pig On The Beach Hotel” - at beautiful Studland Bay in Dorset on National Trust land (near the village of Corfe Castle and the charming seaside town of Swanage).

It’s gorgeous and the food is fantastic. There’s a lovely cosy snug with fires 🔥 in cold weather exclusively for hotel guests.

You can google the reviews in The Daily Telegraph (hotel reviews are free) also

and the hotel’s own website

Great question! Just wish it was cosy and cheap 😂

WhitegreeNcandle · 18/09/2024 21:49

Saunton sands and woolacombe bay would be my two suggestions. Also the Old Course at St Andrews

Calmee · 19/09/2024 12:03

Oh so many good suggestions here- thank you so much! How on earth do I narrow it down to one?!
<<Idly plans cosy weekends away every weekend until February...>> 😂😂
