Secondary school worries

Maybe this should have gone in Education but I guess I wanted the traffic.

DS will be in secondary school in September 2025. And I am worried about him. He's a sweet, slightly awkward nerdy boy who loves gaming. From what I read about boys in secondary, it sounds like he will get eaten alive.

His sisters are both in secondary and doing mostly ok, but I worry about him.

Anybody else have worries or reassurances about this?

Build up his self esteem, that's the key IMO. I was a total nerd (well, still am 😅) but I lacked self esteem. My DH, huge nerd as well, but with great confidence in himself so he was better equiped to face (the inevitable) challenges. I agree regarding sports (it doesn't have to be the typical ones or even team sports, but maybe a martial art? Something that can show him the amazing thigs his body can do).
He'll find his tribe, eventually.
The only thing we parents can do is help with their self esteem and self confidence. Good luck 😊
