Housewarming gift for new foreign neighbours

Hi, last year my dd befriended a new girl at school who had arrived from South America with barely any English language skills and now by chance they have rented a house in our street! I do not know the parents at all, as it was a dump-and-run to the friend’s birthday party last year and dh took dd. but my dd is over the moon and I’d love to give the new neighbours a housewarming gift.

What could I give that would not look too cheesy or stalkerish? I was thinking of baking a cake or maybe taking a pot of herbs and flowers to have on their porch. Any other good ideas?

Edibles not something they have to care for. Wink

Chocolate and card can be absolutely fine. Even just a card with your names and welcome is lovely gesture

Morrisons do some lovely bunches of flowers for around £10.

Flowers but those that are already in water so they dont have to put them in anything and a card.

Ok these ideas are good, I’ll try and keep it simple. Flowers in their own water is sensible. Maybe some nice biscuits?

Ive got no idea how they decided to choose our street (we are quite a distance from the girls’ school) but it feels like fate, or a sign. I’m usually quite shy but I feel compelled to go and welcome this family. And I was brought up to believe in signs so I will go and find out why the universe wants me to know these people.
