DC is 6 & has never visited London.

We're thinking of taking her for a day trip in December to do some christmassy things.

Any ideas of what's good to do with a 6 year old, other than look at the lights on Oxford Street.

Thanks

We do a Christmas tree type tour every year that incorporates the lights on Regent’s Street (the best lights are around New Bond St btw. So (not in this particular order) we usually go to St Pancras Station, Claridges, Covent Garden, Annabelle’s, Fortnum and Mason, a look at Selfridges window display and the Christmas store (toy dept). Interspersed with stops for hot chocolate/pizza/cake!

A show would also be a great idea - the Snowman is a reliable classic for a 6yo, or the Christmas play that goes wrong, or something like StickMan..?

a walk along the South Bank where there are Xmas market stalls and a small fairground also fun

the lights tour at Kew Gardens is lovely. Similar at London Zoo and Kenwood House..

probably best spread over at least 2 days to avoid overwhelm!

Carols at the Royal Albert Hall
Visit Father Christmas at Harrods
See the tree at Hamley’s toy shop
Ice skating at Somerset House or Battersea Power Station

There are some lovely children's theatres e.g. the Unicorn is near London Bridge and Borough Market and always has a Christmas show.
