Why have BBC News built a 'life sized model' of the submarine in the studio ?

Surely we can follow what they are saying without so much time and money being wasted?

Maybe they had the model before the thing imploded? Do you know how much time and money was "wasted" on the model?

No, I don't know the figure, but clearly more than if they hadn't built it.

A couple of hundred quid's worth of plywood and sheet plastic, knocked together in a few days by their props department.

Frankly, there's better coverage on a number of YouTube channels than anything I have seen on the BBC so far.

That is 100% CGI! She would definitely have been more interactive with it if it was a real model.

No, they have explicitly said on the program (more than once) they have a life sized model in the studio.

Which is why I thought it so odd - it came across like they are really proud of it.
