What type of bike?

I haven’t owned a bike since I was a student. At the age of 55, I’d like to get a bike for some gentle cycling. I would avoid main roads, and stick mostly to parks and paths. What sort of bike should I go for?

Electric hybrid, I'd recommend..can help up hills and reduce power for flat..

A hybrid bike sounds like the best fit for your needs. If you have a local new or second-hand bike shop, I’d recommend you get fitted for one.

It might sound silly, but if you have a gym nearby that offers spin/RPM/group cycle classes I’d recommend doing a few for confidence/bike fitness. It’s obviously not the same as learning gears and handling on your outdoor bike, but a good way of easing back in.

That’s really helpful advice. Thank you.
