If you were to plan a really special day out in London with your 6 yr old where would you go/eat/do/watch. Looking for some ideas beyond the obvious history/science museum etc. Thanks!

I'd go to the planetarium in Greenwich then take the boat down the river. Stop off at pizza express for lunch. It's my nearly six year old's dream London day and not too stressful for you 😀 The planetarium have showings for under 7s or over 7s, I think either would be appropriate.

I would do one of the free city farms like Vauxhall or mudchute, and include a trip on the clipper riverboat and the cable car over Thames xx

A visit to Hamleys!

A few things I would like to do with my 6 year old:

  • Afternoon tea bus - Brigits Bakery
  • if there’s any interactive art exhibitions or installations at Tate Modern (or similar) we’d do that.
  • Jurassic afternoon tea at Queensgate - you could combine with the science museum
  • we love Hatchards Bookshop on Piccadilly - and they have events on too eg at Christmas. Can combine with Fortnum & Masons and Hamleys if there’s any interest in shops.
  • Post museum
  • twist musuem

Things my daughter (now 8) has loved:
-Hamleys (where she had glitter tattoos, hair chalk, hair curling done)
-Charlie & the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea
-Theatre. She loved wicked and frozen (which sadly has ended now) but I imagine Matilda would also be amazing and the lion king.
