FB: How to defriend or block someone without them knowing or causing offence

Unfortunately a new mum acquaintance put me in the awkward position of making a friend request and we work in the same place.
If I didn't accept it I felt it was rude so I did although I didn't want too.

However she works at the same place and is like a wet lettuce and doesn't make any efforts to say hi etc.
If she does it's like she's being forced too.
I find this irksome and cheeky.
How do I get her off without however causing offence so maybe there is a way to block her from most of my profile??

Just block or defriend her, she won’t know unless she goes looking for you. Alternatively, when you post, check the audience and click ‘Friends except…..’ so she doesn’t see anything you post. Bit annoying but effective.
