Unwell baby has gone off of her milk

Hello,

My LO (9M) is poorly (think she picked up a bug of some sort at nursery) she's got a cold, is congested and has a mild cough as well as mucus.

She's really gone off her milk/food. She's not a biggg milk drinker anyway but usually will have 3-4 3/4 oz bottles at least alongside three meals.

Today she's probably had a grand total of 6oz of milk - if that and just one solid meal (refused meals all day, at around 4pm I managed to get her to have one but since then refused again).

Is this normal for a poorly baby? When should I be worried? She has still had wet and dirty nappies so I've not taken her to hospital but is she still okay to not drink much milk for the whole day?

Thanks

I would be worried. Call 111 for advice. They may suggest she is seen by out of hours GP.

I would call 111 too
Could be covid, DS brought it home from school last week, there's loads of bugs around though :-(

It’s best to seek advice but don’t worry yourself too much. The first thing we all do when we are poorly is not eat as much, little ones are the same. I worried myself stupid when my little girl had her first ear infection and didn’t eat/drink for 2/3 days, just slept for hours and hours. It was just what she needed to help rest and recover. Keep offering fluids and speak to a doctor, but what you’re describing sounds just like my little one too xx

I personally wouldn’t be worried so long as she’s having wet nappies but it never does any harm to give 111 a wee call for some reassurance.

I wouldn't be worried about not having milk or food if still hydrated. Is she drinking water/juice? It's quite normal to go off eating for a while when unwell you just have to keep a close eye. If she won't take and fluid try ice lollies

I wouldn't worry too much. She has eaten and drank, just not as much as usual which is understandable if she's under the weather. As adults our appetites fluctuate when we're unwell, my children all seem to go on hunger strike when they are poorly.

Obviously if she stops drinking or eating at all then you should be concerned.
