Have my driving test tomorrow , after 6 months of waiting, been let down by my doctor so no anti anxiety meds as I would have liked and planned for, I do have rescue remedy and I will eat a banana. Any tips, my anxiety is driving me up the wall (pun intended) !

Best of luck!
The thing that helped me, probably slightly but every little helped, was a ('prepare for your driving test') hypnosis track. There may be some that are now findable online as audio files.
One section in mine was about the examiner - out of context, but it said to consider that he or she has a boring job but one that they know well, so to put them low down on your things to focus on as you drive.

Wear comfortable knickers (also my strategy for exams) and go to the toilet first - you don’t want to get distracted from driving by feeling your knickers in uncomfortable crevices.

Thanks both! Still fretting, but this time tomorrow I’ll know how I’ve done. I’m so so nervous, don’t think I’m going to sleep tonight :-(

Some things that helped me were distracting myself listening to music the night before, doing deep breathing throughout the test and saying aloud to myself what I was doing as I did manoeuvres, if any of that helps. Good luck.

Homelanderswife · 15/09/2024 19:42

Amazing well done.
It's an incredible feeling isn't it!

Xxx

YouOKHun · 16/09/2024 10:01

Well done! I still remember the feeling when I passed (nearly 40 years ago!). It's extra pressure these days because of the horrible situation with getting a test slot. That situation is now in your rear view mirror - Safe travels!

Ormally · 16/09/2024 10:04

Ah, fabulous! Well done!

Ormally · 16/09/2024 10:04

And officially, you now have lucky pants (also comfortable ones)

MadamMaltesers · 16/09/2024 10:15

Was about to give you some tips, so happy for you congrats! I passed on my 4th attempt and could not believe it when he said you passed felt surreal.

Homelanderswife · 16/09/2024 11:26

Thanks all. I actually felt like the drive went well , seemed a little easier than my mock tests which I failed !
