Recommendations for orange wine that can be bought in supermarkets

I recently had a glass of orange wine at friend's house.. Didn't note the name, nor did my friend and the bottle was pur in the recycling and collected. . She'd won it in a raffle so no chance of tracing the person who donated it.

I've drank a lot of wine over the years, but had never heard of orange wine and really enjoyed it. Any recommendations for specific orange wines, preferably that can be bought from supermarkets rather than ordering online. Thanks

Pop to Waitrose and ask their in-store wine specialist they are very knowledgeable

Some ideas here

Best orange wines 2024: Tried, tested and selected by our expert | The Independent

Also M&S do one at £10 (also available on Ocado) and Majestic Wine sell them too

Thank you I have found orange wines by googling but was hoping I might find a consensus on a decent one by asking MN

@OMGitsnotgood that's why I suggested Waitrose, I've had two from there on recommendation from their wine specialist, I can't remember which though

Shop Cuvee (online or they have 2 wine bars in London) do great orange wine, but also watching to see if you get any good supermarket recommendations!

We only have a small Waitrose near us. Well, not that near but doable. Will their smaller stores have wine experts too @Thistooshallpass24 ?

Actually I could try phoning and asking the specific store

@OMGitsnotgood I'm unsure, mines a regular size ( I presume) the wine guy is great, knows loads and isn't pushy

Thank you @Thistooshallpass24 . I'll call in next time I'm passing by.

I've not tried it but I've heard seen some fantastic reviews about the Aldi orange wine

AlphabetBird · 14/09/2024 22:51

The Aldi Rosorange is lovely, very drinkable and probably a bit less ‘out there’ than other orange wines. Definitely worth buying to try.

There's a Georgian orange wine in M&S, has an orange label, and is the only Georgian wine in there. Very nice, quite dry, £10

Great thank you everyone.
