Where to I get help?

Just wondered if anyone knows.., I'm in a blur of pain so I'm posting here for traffic.

I've got a tooth that's broken. I went to the dentist on Thursday and he said it's broken with a deep filling in that's touching the nerves. The roots are also long and deep and dying causing infection. I'm having it removed and it's got to be a surgical removal. He said at the time the infection was "just starting" but gave me antibiotics as I'm immunosuppressed.

Today I feel terrible. The pain from it is unbelievable, I feel achy, headachy and cold. I did the 111 online thing and it said to speak to my dentist. Is it still a dental problem or now medical as I'm immunosuppressed with symptoms of infection? Been on antibiotics for two days.

111 know more than anyone on here and if you try again ask to speak to a dental nurse who should be able to call you back in a few hours.

Our country is usually left lacking in pain relief for dental pain. Ive no idea if you're alllowed codeine but some people try and procure their own in times like this.

I'm really limited to pain relief types as I have gastric issues but I think I'm getting to the stage where I'd take anything!

I've had all the dental stuff done now just waiting for the next appointment but I'm worried about the infection spreading

I know it sounds lame but keep up with salty rinses every couple of hours. I presume you're cycling paracetamol and ibuprofen every 2 hours on and off? I wouldnt worry too much about the infection spreading and you're on antibiotics already anyway so should sort it out. Its more a pain thing.

I'm not meant to take ibuprofen because I'm on steroids and it damages your stomach lining but I've had to go one better and take naproxen, sometimes you just have to to get some relief!

Dental pain is just hideous! I've had a few better hours but I can feel it wearing off now :-(
