Decreased appetite - any ideas?

Over the past month I’ve developed quite a decrease in appetite, it could almost be described as an aversion to food. Typically I’m quite a foodie, adore cooking and love eating (a bit too much..) so for me this is very unusual! Even my usual favourite meals feel forced down at the minute, there’s just no enjoyment in it. I’m eating about half of what I normally would - currently on one meal a day (not a big one) and an evening snack.

No other illness or symptoms. I only ever lose my appetite when I am very stressed or struggling mentally - I’m neither of those things at the minute and would say that I’m really quite happy in myself.

I’m not complaining as I do need to lose a few kgs and this is definitely helping… however, at the same time I’m worried that this could be a sign of something else. Any ideas? I’ve rang the GP multiple times this week to try and book in for bloods but no such luck..

Is it possibly hormonal?

Has happened to me and I also haven't had a period in the same timeframe. I'm sure there is a link.

Definitely book in at dr especially if you are losing weight. WHO states losing weight unintentionally as a red flag.
