DH has a big birthday coming up, and I've booked us a cruise - which will be a surprise for him. It's much more extravagant than our usual holidays, so I'm hoping it'll be really special.
My parents have kindly offered to look after our children (12 and 8) for the week we are away. However, whilst my parents are currently in excellent health, I do worry a little that something might happen that means they're unable to babysit. They are getting to that age where most of their friends have serious medical issues of some sort or another (mid 70s).
I've checked my travel insurance and understandably it doesn't mention childcare as something it would cover. Has anyone else been through this - and if so, what do you do? Just hope for the best?!
