So the office temperature fight has started

I share an office with two others - much younger than middle aged me, which may be relevant.

Today they've had the thermostat set at 23.5, although they're convinced it's not accurate, and have been sat wrapped in blankets, while I have a summer dress on and feel like I can barely breathe in the heat.

We might be at opposite extremes in what we think is comfortable, but how are we going to navigate this?

We have it set for the warmest people
If they're in summer dresses, they can't strip off any more but cold people can add fleece/sweater/blanket

Little heaters under desk for them - fan for you 😂

23.5 is insane!
a nice round 18 - 20 is acceptable.

clarrylove · 17/01/2025 10:54

Just because the thermostat is set for that, doesn't mean it will ever reach that temperature. What is the actual temperature in there? Is day 19/20 would be the norm. If it's only 17 for example, that might be why they've cranked it up, but doesn't mean it immediately becomes that temp.

I feel the cold terribly, our office is usually at about 23 on the thermostat, but I don't think its accurate either as 23 at home would be sweltering.
I'm currently in a hoodie and ugg boots with fleece lined leggings on, and I've got my heated blanket on 😂

I've been feeling the cold so much recently that I've ordered another heated blanket just for the office and I've ordered a heated desk mat as I get 'cold mouse hand' (yes- it's a thing!)

I am also middle aged and looking forward to the hot flushes starting.
