I’m not a medical professional by any means, but that does not look like a bruise you’d forget receiving.

Op, did you have a traumatic birth? I mean at any point might you have lashed out and knocked your arm, but not realised at the time? It does look like a bruise, but like pp has said, it's one you'd really remember getting

Wasywasydoodah · 12/09/2024 19:31

I got bruises on my wrists from the way I treated the headrest on my bed during labour. I pulled out the canula too, without noticing. Could it be that?

Happynappy1 · 12/09/2024 19:31

Well I was out for most of the birth at the end I had to have surgery and was so exhausted and traumatised I fell asleep during the surgery down below. I’m bruised on my back but I remember that and know it was from the epidural they also hurt like a bruise should. This dosnt hurt my partner can’t remember where it came from either but he was pre occupied worrying about me and the baby not if I was bruised. I do remember having to be moved by many people while going into surgery as I was numb from waist down and couldn’t move.

Did you have a cannula in your wrist? Or did they take a blood sample from your artery (called a blood gas) it looks like a bleed under the skin rather than a bruise which is why it probably doesn't hurt

MissMoneyFairy · 12/09/2024 19:33

Did you have a blood sample taken, a cannula put in that you can remember or blood gas samples taken

Happynappy1 · 12/09/2024 19:34

It was traumatic but only really at the end I was actually very weak through most of it and calm due to exhaustion. My partner says I spent most of it with my eyes rolling and passing out/ falling asleep in between contractions don’t think I was lashing out

Cannula was on my other arm I guess they could of taken blood and I hadn’t noticed although all bloods after where done on my upper inner arm

That looks like a bruise which would typically be left if you'd had a blood gas done.

eyebagsfordays · 12/09/2024 19:37

Looks similar to a bruise I got from a blood test once. Didn't hurt like a bruise but a few days after the test it was still coming out and spreading. My midwife said it's to do with self suction syringes that aren't placed right x

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 12/09/2024 20:27

Looks like they canulated your wrist or took blood. I had similar on my ankle.

DrunkTinkerbell40s · 12/09/2024 21:16

This looks just like a bruise I had when they took blood from the inside of my elbow, a huge chunk of my arm was black like this. I would still get it checked though x
