Tell me about packing cubes

It's been a long time since I went on holiday but it's finally happening.
Does anyone use packing cubes?
What are the advantages?
Where do you buy them from?

I love them!
They mean you can compress clothes so get more in and help you be more organised eg packing cube per child etc.
they are all similar so just get some cheap ones from Amazon with a range of sizes

I travelled for years without them and have recently started using them.

Advantages:
If more than one person is using the same suitcase its easier to unpack everyones stuff.
Useful if you have an overnight e.g. at the airport before a flight. I pack everything we need in just 1 cube on the top so we aren't digging through the whole suitcase.

Disadvantages
You can't take advantage of all the nooks and crannies in between clothes so I find I can't pack in quite so much.

I usually do a mix of cubes and then fill in the gaps with other stuff.

They’re useful if you need to organise for multiple children, but I was disappointed that they didn’t save the space they claimed to.

On a big family holiday I like to colour code by family member then split between cases so no one loses all their stuff if a bag goes missing and then also it’s not chaos trying to unpack as it’s obvious whose is whose. If it’s just me with a carry on I don’t tend to bother.

I always thought they were an over hyped gimmick but having bought some a couple of years ago - I couldn’t be without them now.
All my gym stuff in one, one for underwear, T-shirts etc. I can just lift them out of the case and put them straight into drawers/on shelves. On the journey home, they are used to separate the laundry for when I get home. I bought them off Amazon. Mine are compression ones
