London Christmas Day trip - West End or City/East End

I’ve got a friend visiting for a day trip to London in November/December. She’s lived in the London area but not for years.

We were thinking about Christmas markets. There are some in Covent Garden and on South Bank and then I also thought the Christmas lights around Bond Street are stunning. Could even do a bottomless brunch or afternoon tea somewhere nice.

Last time she was visiting though we did Lady Dinah’s Cat Cafe in Bethnal Green and a market near there.

I was thinking if I did east end you can visit Spitalfields market, Roman Road market and the other ones like Columbia Road and maybe a Jack the Ripper tour and Dennis Severs house. Or Borough market and there’s a couple of gin factories that do tours near there.

So if you’re visiting London what would you prefer.

We are removing this while we do some checks behind the scenes.

That’s a good idea. All depends what I can fit in and what we both want to do.

For Columbia Road Market, you will probably want to be there on a Sunday.

Re Dennis Severs' house, don't leave it too long to book if you want to visit pre Christmas - it books up especially quickly for those weeks.
