Bottled gas heaters - any good ?

I have a cold old house. I've done all I can afford to insulate but no more is possible. (It needs a new roof & there aren't any grants for that!) I've been quoted 7.5K for a log burner.
I wondered about buying one of these for each cold room (15x15ft, high ceilings) as pre CH / extra heat for hen the inadequate central heating is on.
Does the whole unit heat up like a mini log burner or are they a bit weedy & not worth the £400 each Amazon charge?

We have one very similar and it definitely throws out some heat.

However we found it difficult to buy a new gas bottle - most places will only do exchanges. We ended up buying one on gumtree for about £100. So you will need to factor that in.
