Hotel meals- why so much chips?

I've been working away for the last couple of weeks and still have 10 days to go. I've eaten everything off the premierinn menu. I'm on a meal allowance and skint so can't buy alternative meals. But why so much chips?

Cheapest ingredient maybe

exprecis · 11/09/2024 21:14

Cos they are as cheap as chips

TigerOnTour · 11/09/2024 21:14

They're delicious 😋

Littletreefrog · 11/09/2024 21:14

Fills up the plate for cheap

Premier inn isn't exactly the gold standard of restaurant food, although some of it is quite nice. Can you eat somewhere else using your allowance?

socialdilemmawhattodo · 11/09/2024 21:15

Basically not fresh or healthy food. Absolutely, the downside about working away.I feel for you.

No unfortunately it's meal allowance or pay and get it back next month. I'm already £300 out of pocket for taxis so far. I'll get it back but I'm the sole income in my home. So meal allowance it is

If you are staying in the same place it's worth asking the staff whether they can tweak some dishes for you. Generally if it's on the menu somewhere they will do veg/salad instead of chips.
