Can someone tell me how Etsy works please?

Dd wants to sell some stuff. Tbh I didn't think it would sell but we opened an account put an item up and someone has bought it.
I've got an address and we've got it packaged but how are the funds transferred. I can see the amount in my finances so what happens next?
I can't really find the info and we need to post it today.

And do we need to use their address labels or Evris?

No advice op all i know is that etsy is over priced.
Get the stuff elsewhere 20 times cheaper.

@StarShipControl whenever I've bought from etsy, the seller usually uses their own wrapping and labels. Sometimes beautifully packaged, othertimes a jiffy bag/box

You can use Etsy labels, very straightforward to do. You can them pop it in the letterbox (assuming it fits), or drop off at PO.

I think it sold because it was priced fairly low!
Oh well. Can't discourage entrepreneurship.

It's full of drop shipping so be aware of the "competition" your dd needs to work out and value her time and skill set to see if it's actually worth it

The genuinely handmade stuff is not overpriced.
The problem is drop shipped tat has taken over the site and it's become hard to find actual hand made items.

When you set it up you link your bank account to it and set a withdrawal schedule.

When you're new they hold some of your funds in reserve.

Postage - buy through Etsy you can use royal mail or evri and they count as tracked even if they aren't.
If you buy outside of Etsy but don't provide a tracking number it won't count for your star seller stats.

but you can tell who the drop shippers are can't you?

You see the exact same item from a lot of different sellers, easy to spot.
