Yes, washed and mashed

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 10/09/2024 19:02

Is it not too salty? I'd only give a tiny bit to be on the safe side

its not too salty if it’s in water and not brine.

Yes. Baby can eat anything you can except whole nuts and honey.

Yes, in spring water or sunflower oil.
Just avoid the stuff in brine due to the salt.

What about the mercury? I thought it wasn't recommended?

Drivingoverlemons · 10/09/2024 20:58

I used to mix it with cheesy mash, salmon too (not at the same time)

What about jalapenos? Or mackerel? Or scotch bonnet pepper? Or an apple? Or a toffee?

Download the Solid Starts app, OP. Super helpful for questions like this (of which I had MANY when weaning DD1 😅)

Tinned tuna, particularly the type sold in the UK, is relatively low in mercury and there’s no advice to avoid it here. I think the varieties in the US have higher levels so their advice is different.

I think it’s fine OP, I know I gave some to DD although she wasn’t a particular fan, and still isn’t, so it was never much. Get the spring water but just check as I think they still have salt added some of them so maybe rinse it if you’re concerned.
