Deterring neighbour’s dog

Loooooong story short… my neighbour’s dog does it daily crap in my front garden and I can’t stop it. I chat to neighbour, he is apologetic, he clears it up, it happens again. I am moving in a year or so and am unwilling to spend anymore energy on convincing him to be a responsible dog owner, so Plan B…

what I would like is some sort of animal prickle strip that I can drive over. Is there such a thing? I can see prickle strips on Amazon but they all look like they’d break if I drove over them.

I remember buying dog and cat repellant from B&Q when I had this problem a few years ago.

I can't remember the name of it but it was a pack of bright green gel pellets that you sprinkled on the grass (or area that the dog is fouling).

It was incredibly sweet smelling - not particularly pleasant it not offensive. It was around a fiver per pot (approx 1
Litre size) and worked a charm

Motion controlled sprinkler? My dog would run a mile but some might not care. Worth a try though!

Chilli is a good shout. And a water spray. Lemon, chilli, the lot.
Keep reporting to the dog warden

I have been battling this for a long time. I have tried sooooo many things. The owner is not reasonable. He is also rather aggressive. I am not scared of confrontation. But I have been there and it doesn’t work. I have wasted years of energy on knocking on his door, reporting, telling all the other neighbours etc..

I don’t have the energy to fight him anymore and I’m moving in a year or so.

Right now what I want to do is stop the dog physically coming into my garden

You can't. And if you do anything to hurt it then that out of order.

Itching powder over the grass, so dog is dragging his arse all over neighbours carpet ….😆

joke…

TheFlis · 10/09/2024 19:29

Please ignore recommendations of things like chilli. That could really hurt the dog and it is not their fault, it’s the owners.

Why is shitting outside acceptable because it’s a pet?

Or, alternatively, why is not acceptable because it's a pet. I'm thinking humans must be about the only species NOT to shit outside. There must be far more shit outside than inside Grin

Jeyes fluid. Years ago had a neighbour who let his dog repeatedly poop on the pavement in front of my drive. It was a Great Dane. I put Jeyes fluid mixed in some water and put it down that stopped it.

Spiderwmn · 11/09/2024 08:36

Keyes fluid is good but might kill the grass
