Going to a show at the Bristol Hippodrome and wondering where to eat beforehand. Lots of options on Google! Any recommendations?

I don't know if it's good as I've not been, but next time I go, I want to try Nutmeg. It's Indian. It looked lovely from the outside.

Nutmeg is fantastic

Cosy Club?

I usually go to Turtle Bay as it's opposite and I like their cocktails.
For a quick bite in the day, there are several independent stalls at St Nicholas market, but it depends who you are going with and what time. I would always book somewhere if you want a table, as it gets quite busy in the evening

We went to nutmeg as it’s practically next door, and was excellent. Very very busy, we didn’t book and sar on bar stools in the window

I'd go for Cosy Club if I wanted a bit more upmarket, or Watershed for more informal felafel&salad type food.

There's a Miller & Carter very close by or Under the Stars (on a boat) is opposite and quite good.

There's a good Lebanese place in a basement somewhere round there but I can't remember the name ...

Beirut mezze? I think it's on Small Street. I had a great meal in there.

Bristol Beacon which is very nearby has a more upmarket restaurant called the colonnade. It also has a café and another separate bar in the building.

Ciao Amici is just across the road and often offers a discount for theatre goers.

In the Old City, you have Old India and Urban Tandoor if you enjoy Indian food

Cappadocia on Baldwin Street is a short walk away, but serves delicious Turkish food- you would definitely need to book in advance
