Just seeing if this is the norm...

Applied for CB on 6th Aug, online. Message pops up to say response will be given in 28 calendar days.

Roll on today, not heard a thing, nothing on online account.

Spent 45 mins in a queue to HMRC on the phone to be told a response, not a payment, will be made by November!

Is this the norm now?

I have no idea as my DDs are adults now. Could you check online? I know other things can be checked on the government website.

Isthisrealomgwow · 09/09/2024 18:51

I have looked at my online account and nothing has been updated.

My friend applied online mid August. She checked her online account a couple of weeks ago and it stated they were dealing with applications made at the end of May and she shouldn’t chase it up until the 24th October at the earliest.

Isthisrealomgwow · 10/09/2024 12:53

@DuckBee such a long wait.
I'm very fortunate that I don't need the money, at the moment.

Yep very much the norm!

longdistanceclaraclara · 10/09/2024 14:18

I applied end of July and haven't heard anything.

CreamC · 10/09/2024 14:24

Crikey this is shocking! Thanks for the heads up. I had naively assumed it’d be processed within a week or so.

Isthisrealomgwow · 10/09/2024 15:58

So did I @CreamC . I didn't have to wait long with baby 1.
I'll be on SMP by the time the money comes.
Still, it will be a good way to save!
