Ingrown toe nail

Please help anyone been in this position with there child my son who is 12 has ingrown toe for few months now have been to podiatrist’s who have cut them out twice but the last time it got infected after now it just won’t go down have been given flucloxacillin but has not made a difference it is so red and leaking puss I have tried everything we are waiting for nhs but I can’t really wait but scared to try private after the last time does anyone have advice feel so helpless

DP has had issues with this. I use a plaster to loop underneath the toe with the aim to pull the toe skin away from the nail. (So put the sticky bit of the plaster next to where the nail ingrows, pull it tight so the skin moves away from the nail and then stick it in position on the rest of the toe.)
