Help. I am in a v v boring two day meeting where I have to be present but not involved. Can’t use phone (currently on a break? But I do have a notebook. What can I think about? What lists can I make?

If you celebrate Christmas then a present list, books you want to read, podcasts you want to listen to, bands to see, house improvement list ?

Maddi1234 · 09/09/2024 11:27

If you were a man, you could think about the Roman Empire - many do that a lot, I’m told.

Seriously though, I second lists, Christmas or any other kind.

Legoless · 09/09/2024 12:55

Haha - I have thought about the Roman Empire and that took me about two mins. I need more...

Plan out a novel?

Turnitoffnonagain · 09/09/2024 13:04

Plan your next holiday? List the places you'd like to go to.
Do top 5s. Your top five favourites of literally anything.
I cannot tell you the number of similarly boring meeting I have been to!

Before I go to sleep, I set up the caravan I will likely never have. Should I ever need to go around Australia, I have it ready.

MaxEye · 09/09/2024 14:48

@jackieMcCord I do this. I wrote the whole of my first chapter in my head once during a particularly shit half-day workshop. I couldn't wait to get home and actually get it down on paper.

OP, how about playing that game where you see how many words you can make from another word?

I also go for frequent and really long wee breaks during particularly boring meetings.

Legoless · 09/09/2024 15:03

I have just made lists of all the people I am going to invite to the fiftieth birthday party I am not going to have.

Inspired by a recent post on here, I would buy a lotto ticket and spend the time making a detailed plan of everything you'd buy/give/invest 😂

Have a go at zentangles. You'd have to Google to see what I mean but they are excellent time wasters and very addictive!

I use the alphabet

countries with an A,B and so forth

same with capital cities, counties, fruit and veg etc

it may send you to sleep though so don't blame me lol

Lovetotravel123 · 09/09/2024 16:17

The alphabet of gratitude. Like the country thing above but this time things you are grateful for. I do this any time I am bored or getting treatment at the dentist!
