Perimenopause symptom - nurse response

I am 49 years old. I am still having periods but getting perimenopausal symtoms: sleeping problems, some night sweats, but worse of all huge morning anxiety and crushing tiredness.

Anyway rang the medical centre and asked to make an appointment with the menopause specialist nurse. Spoke to the nurse who assigns appointmens (triages?). On hearing my symptoms, she asked "do you still have periods?". I said yes. And she said "That's weird".

I assumed that the "that's weird" comment was from me having such symptoms before stopping periods.

It shouldn't bother me because I got the appointment anyway (with someone who hopefully knows more). But isn't it unproffessional for a hcp to describe someone's health concerns/symptoms as "weird".

PS not in uk. Different health care set up.

The "that's weird" shows she knows bugger all about menopause. Really not the best wording to use.
