Gigs you have missed out on and regret

With the recent Taylor swift and oasis furore what gigs/concerts/festivals do you deeply regret not seeing?

Mine is the 2014 Kate bush tour. Pretty sure there won't be a repeat of that 😔

The Foo Fighters earlier this year, The Gaslight Anthem earlier this year, and Frank Turner’s 3000th show which is not until next year but I don’t have tickets.

Elton John at Glastonbury.

Another one for Prince. And Nirvana. Also very jealous of my parents who saw Jimmy Hendrix.

Sleepbabysh · 08/09/2024 21:41

Ennio Morricone's last tour. I was in Italy seeing family when it was on and looked into buying tickets but going would have meant I needed to change my return flight home to a slightly inconvenient day so i didn't. He died shortly afterwards and I seriously regret not just changing my flight home.

mnahmnah · 08/09/2024 21:41

I had tickets for what turned out to be Prince’s final tour with my boyfriend, but we split up before the concert. I couldn’t find anyone to go with me in his place and didn’t want to travel to London alone for it. I always look back with regret that i didn’t just go!

Secondguess · 08/09/2024 21:42

As already mentioned, Kate Bush, and also Bowie's Reality tour with Gail-Ann Dorsey dueting on Under Pressure

Timeforabiscuit · 08/09/2024 21:42

Muse were playing in a dive pub in mutley plain Plymouth just before they "made it".

Knew people on the door, but just couldn't be bothered going out that night.

Beamur · 08/09/2024 21:43

Pulp

TheGoddessMinerva · 08/09/2024 21:43

Robbie Williams at Knebworth.

I had tickets, but also had an assignment to get in for my MSc. Should have gone and not worried; I aced the assignment.

Chewbecca · 08/09/2024 21:45

Live Aid
Not that it was an option, I was too young!

poppyzbrite4 · 08/09/2024 21:47

I had tickets to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and didn't go!

Nirvana at Reading, 1992

Soberfutures · 08/09/2024 21:49

Had lady gaga tickets and she had to cancel. Totally gutted. I understood her reasons but won't have the cash or the chance to try again. Also TLC also cancelled a few years back. On the plus side I
have seen many I have wanted to. Prince would have been amazing and even Michael Jackson. Madonna in her 80s/90s. Also celine dion, as I have always liked her and just watched her documentary on netflix and cried.

Ethelswith · 08/09/2024 21:51

LiveAid - but we had a cracking good party watching it on the telly

Also AC/DC - had tickets but the gig was cancelled on the day and I never got round to arranging to see them on a different date or on a later tour

Whothefuckdoesthat · 08/09/2024 21:53

Foo Fighters. Three times I’ve had tickets and three times I’ve not gone.

Once I let myself be nagged by an ex into not going by myself, because obviously I would be kidnapped and murdered, going all that way, (exceptionally cross with myself for letting that happen), once I was ill and once DG broke his leg and I couldn’t make the new date.

FMSucks · 08/09/2024 22:08

Oasis and the chillis. Bought tickets for both as presents for exes. By the time the concerts came around I was no longer with the exes and missed out. I will never buy a man another concert ticket ever again 😤

Blueuggboots · 09/09/2024 09:07

Wham! The Final. My mum said it was too far to go. We lived in Milton Keynes at the time.....not over it.
