The Holy Grail of Duvets ???

My duvet is driving me nuts 😂 it’s thin, doesn’t sit right in the cover. I would love to save up for a really good quality chunky duvet insert. Not one that makes me sweaty but has a heavy weight to it ? Also the cover- mine always wrinkle around and the duvet doesn’t fit- any tips

I went into a department shop and tried loads and all were thin and expensive (I will go up to 100 for top notch once in a lifetime duvet 😂) obviously would rather it cheaper !

Coverless duvet! Game changer in this house. It's washed and dried in five hours and back on the bed. No covers to change.

I bought a wool Baavet duvet about 11 years ago and it's the best duvet I've ever used. It has a heaviness to it - it's not all light and puffy like a down duvet.
It's probably outside your budget although they have a bargain corner on the website for slightly imperfect duvets that are much reduced.

You’re a star nanny I’ll google those. I actually would go higher if it means it lasts a decade and I sleep better as I am ratty and have bad skin and dark eyes which doesn’t help my aging face (not that I’m sun 😂)

Weighted blanket? They are heavy without being too hot

It's doesn't It's light but 10.5 tog so goes in the washing machine. We all love them.

You need a coverless duvet, I think the fine bedding company do them. I’ve got two and love them!

Cover less duvet here, cotton waffle one. Not heavy though but I couldn't stand when my duvet didn't fit the cover properly and slipped down. Cover less one is washed and dried and back on the bed mid afternoon with no fuss. Game changer.

I think you should get a wool duvet. It's just what you want. Good quality with some weight to it.

I thought that coverless duvets were light.

We use coverless duvets here but they are not particularly heavy. The cotton waffle one from the fine bedding company is probably the heaviest. They are game changing but not sure if would suit the op.

Agree, we have wool duvets, they are amazing. Devon Duvets are fantastic, but if they are over budget, Soak and Sleep are good too.

I agree that coverless duvets are light, but I still love them so much for not bunching up (having an empty bit of duvet cover used to give me the rage) and no faffing with duvet covers.

We have ours from the Fine Bedding Company but because it's a king size duvet we have the summer weight ones so they wash and dry easily and quickly. We have a really thick, heavy blanket we use over the top in the winter.

I have heard very good things about wool duvets so that may be what you're looking for! No idea if they fit nicely in the covers though.

what I might do is get the wool one and then spring summer get the Coverless as it would be easy to wash and dry quickly !!

You won't regret a wool duvet! I've had one for about 15 years. Actually it's two as there's thin one and a thicker one that you can popper together.
They are cool in the summer, warm in the winter and I never get overheated like I sometimes do with down or, worse, polyester duvets.
One of the best purchases I ever made

We bought out second wool duvet (first was ruined by launderette 😭) about fourteen years ago, and it’s still perfect. It was a Fogarty Best Night’s Sleep, but similar to this I think. Warm in winter, cool in summer, no need for a different duvet for each season.

Baa-vet is nicely weighty and drapy, and lies neatly flat but it hasn't solved the issue of throwing it on and off all night as I get hot then cold. Bit disappointed.

Another wool duvet devotee here. Much better for helping you to regulate your temperature which is great if you're menopausal.

I’ve got one from Devon Duvets not cheap but the best duvet I’ve ever purchased (used to have really expensive down ones) and it stays in the corners Ive got the summer weight one and use it year round.

Another vote for wool. Mine is Slumberdown and was less than 50 quid on eBay.

I had shit duvets for decades and finally got a goose down one about 7 years ago, from John Lewis. Sheer bliss.

I have this one and would recommend. It has a nice weight to it, doesn't move around or bunch up in the cover, is much easier to get covers on than flimsier duvets and is very temperate in hot and cold temperatures. I absolutely love it. Can't compare to a more expensive wool version as I haven't tried them but I'm very happy to stick with the dunelm one I've got.
