Is anyone around to offer a gentle hand hold?

I'm having an awful time at the moment and would be very grateful for some company.

are you doing up the whole living room or just getting a new table?

Your rabbits are 8kg? Holy cow, my St Bernard is 46kg 🤣 your rabbits are massive.

I've just done up the living room and I'm looking for a table to fit in.

This shows a fair bit, the wallpaper and the paint, so I went yellow, and then this hippo lamp and the lovely table it sits on. I need new couches but I have throws just now. I got a nice flamingo lightshade too and painted my living room door bright pink. Its so bright I love it.

I also have to call the GP for an appointment and I may also call my mental health single point of access team.

This weather doesn’t help does it, we haven’t had nearly enough sunshine this summer. May sound daft but are your vit d levels high enough? I have just started taking mine again as the sun is nil!
If you can find a spare 10 mins tomorrow to do something nice for yourself, fave song - listen/sing it (loudly perhaps), fave choc bar, piece of cake, a fresh coffee, whatever…just do a little something to bring a small smile to your face.
ps my mini dachs can reach my towels on the line if I don’t use the prop! We all seem to have twat dogs 😂
know there are people you can reach out to 🥰

Apolloneuro · 08/09/2024 21:13

Good start. Please don’t feel ashamed. Money problems happen to decent people. Xxx

anxietyaardvark · 08/09/2024 21:13

@FatmanandKnobbin

That is gorgeous! Love the wallpaper and the lovely hippo.

Thank you. That's good advice too.

It would. One of the calls that I have to make is to StepChange as I have debts that I haven't been able to deal with. I'm so ashamed of myself for this.

Don't you dare be ashamed.

You're a working mum, a carer, you have 3 dc, your mum has been ill for a while, and you're autistic and have ADHD.

Some people would struggle with one or 2 of those things and you're dealing with them all at the same time.

What's brilliant is that you've realised you're struggling, you've reached out on here for help, you recognise that you need help with your debts, and your making a plan to help yourself.

You should be applauded op, I think you're fantastic.

anxietyaardvark · 08/09/2024 21:15

Thank you all x This is the first place I've said it all to anyone.

Which ones the highest priority/will bring you the most relief and dopamine hit? Start with that one.

I never know how to prioritise. Something that I can get done to feel like I'm making progress, or go for the hardest thing first?

Apparently people with adhd are wise to start with the easiest thing. The dopamine hit from success spurs you on x

I would start with the doctors and stepchange tomorrow as both will be a process.

Then move onto some smaller things you know you can get sorted and completed quickly.

@FatmanandKnobbin

I'll be off and all three of them will be at school so I'll have some time.

I keep thinking of all the things I have to do and it's stomach churning. I'm paralysed. So scared and anxious.

Nights can be very hard.

OP I too have a lot going on and find nights hard. I found this reel helpful:

www.instagram.com/reel/C9Dd_Pqu-M0/?igsh=MTM3OXBtdGU3c2ljdQ==

Helps give me perspective when I feel my thoughts spiralling at night.

anxietyaardvark · 08/09/2024 21:26

@FreightTrain

That is really helpful. Thank you. Didn't know that.

ChickenDeChick · 08/09/2024 21:35

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time op- that's a huge amount to deal with.

Stepwise are very helpful (I have personal experience of being on a dmp). No judgment from them and once that's sorted hopefully will help easing a little with some of the pressure Flowers

Tworedgeraniums · 08/09/2024 21:38

is there a little treat that uplifts you? I love a bar of Cadbury chocolate with a cup of tea. I like to sit in silence but recently found chime music very relaxing.

hope you’re feeling a lot better soon 💐💐💐

ssd · 08/09/2024 21:39

@FreightTrain , please can you post that again, i couldn't open it

ChickenDeChick · 08/09/2024 21:40

Sorry meant stepchange! On the app and can't edit Smile

Lovelyview · 08/09/2024 21:48

Hand hold op. I'm sure you can sort things out. Maybe just jot down a rough to do list tonight. Getting things out of your head and onto some paper is really helpful and might stop your mind being as busy.

TheGoddessMinerva · 08/09/2024 21:51

Hang hold from me too, OP. I second the idea of writing stuff down. I find it hugely helpful. You have so much on your plate, it is no wonder you are feeling overwhelmed. Well done for reaching out to find non-judgemental company and support.

TheGoddessMinerva · 08/09/2024 21:51

Hand. Not hang!!

TheChosenTwo · 08/09/2024 21:57

Lists are my saviour when I’m feeling overwhelmed. It breaks things down into small pieces rather than having everything swimming about in my head and helps to make thing seem more achievable. And it’s really satisfying to physically cross them out.

Please can we see a photo of your rabbits?!
I used to have bunnies and used to insist to my mum that it would be nice to bring them inside although of course our house wasn’t set up for indoor rabbits and carnage would ensue 🫣😂

hardtocare · 08/09/2024 21:58

FatmanandKnobbin · 08/09/2024 20:33

You OK op?

We can chat about what's wrong and Im sure MN can come up wuth some solutions or ways to get support.

Or if you don't fancy that and just fancy a random natter to keep your mind off stuff, you could give me your opinion on this coffee table. I'm undecided.

Totally up to you 💐

Is that a table or a clothes peg?

Is that a table or a clothes peg?

It's a bench in the shape of a massive clothes peg I would use it as a table though.
