What time do your kids go to bed?

I’m just curious more than anything.
my 8mo daughter goes to bed around 8ish.
my 10 YO son goes to bed 8/8.30 on a school night and between 9-10 on a weekend. I remember going to bed at like 10 on school nights at his age - would never tell him though 😂

Lemoncurtain · 08/09/2024 19:53

A 3yo and 4yo, usually both fall asleep between 7pm and 8pm

welshweasel · 08/09/2024 19:54

7YO is about the same as your 10YO so 8/8.30 weekdays and 9/9.30 on weekends
3YO is 7.30 most nights, occasionally later if we’ve gone somewhere like out for dinner and get home later

Devilsmommy · 08/09/2024 19:56

2yo anywhere between 6&7

Razilla · 08/09/2024 19:57

We've never had " bed times". I always just let them go when they were tired. They generally always went/go about 9-10ish when under 16. Obviously later if they were out at the weekend.

Simonjt · 08/09/2024 20:05

Nine year old 7:30, two almost three year old 7pm, well supposedly, our two year old is shouting out of her bedroom door “i’m not in bed” so yeah.

Allnewtometoo · 08/09/2024 20:08

7 and 9. I aim for in bed by 8.30 on a school night. 9 - 10 weekends.

DoublePeonies · 08/09/2024 20:08

13 - screen free and in bedroom from 9. Don't monitor what time the lights go out.
15 - screen free and in room from 10. I pop in if his lights are still on when I go to bed.

IceStationZebra · 08/09/2024 20:09

4.5yo goes to bed between 7 and 7.30. I would be fine with later but he wakes before 6am most days so he needs the sleep.

Justanotherusername27 · 08/09/2024 20:17

This is good to know. I think I’m a lot stricter when it comes to bed times than my parents were with me. Might let it be a bit later soon as he’s nearly 11. It’s usually lights off by 9 he watched an episode of Simpsons before he goes to sleep.

DD3 goes up at 1930, DS5 anywhere between 1930-2000

angelcake20 · 08/09/2024 20:25

By the time we'd got back from nursery, eaten, bathed, book etc, mine went to bed at 8.30 from 6 months and it stayed at that time until 9ish. After that it varied by child. DS doesn't need sleep so it crept later until 9.30 fairly quickly then 10ish at secondary. DD loves sleep and would still take herself to bed at 9.30 on a school night at 18!

FirstTimeHomeowner · 08/09/2024 20:35

DS is 5 and is generally asleep by 7:30.

2.5 year old- start the routine (teeth, story etc) at 6:30, in cot by 6:45ish and normally asleep by 7pm. Used to be much later but she has now dropped her nap.

Girasoli · 08/09/2024 20:46

RedRobyn2021 · 08/09/2024 20:55

3yo 7-7:30

HappySquid · 08/09/2024 20:58

2YO DS goes to bed around 10-11pm but I live in a country where that is culturally normal, plus he's not in nursery so doesn't have to wake up early in the mornings. I do miss adult TV!

MillshakePickle · 08/09/2024 21:01

Same routines for both kids every night, based on their individual ages.

10yr is in bed at 8.30 and lights out no later than 8.45. Up at 7 am. Wakes naturally. On the weekend, may occasionally be in bed at 9. Special event nights or sporting events bed at around 10 ish but then then next two days are full of overtired hellishness.

17m old is 6.30 or 7 depending on if they've been to nursery that day. Still naps 2x a day and wakes between 5.45 and 6.15. Tried later bedtimes, and baby just woke up earlier.

workingmumguilt · 08/09/2024 21:06

My two will always wake early no matter what time they go to bed and so their bedtime is 7-7.30pm (10.5 and 6). The older one does read/potter in room until 8.30. But if we try much later it’s hell the next day. They’ve always needed a lot of sleep. I do too!

liveforsummer · 08/09/2024 21:06

Dd is 11 and on a weekend she goes to bed when she wants. On school nights if she's still up after 9 I'll prompt her but often 9 is around when she will go

Lemonmelon1 · 08/09/2024 21:06

9 year old goes at 7 on a school night and around 8 at the weekend.
11 year old 9 on a school night and around 10 at the weekend.
14 year old massively struggles to sleep and often takes until 2am to drop off.
