Growing pains- any experiences?

Has anyone had a child with growing pains? What is your experience of how it manifested?
My 11 year old has had 2 episodes of weird leg pains that I’m trying to work out what it might be. Growing pains is the only sensible thing Google keeps suggesting but the pain is atypical for this.
Only in one thigh muscle. Not at night or evening. Lasted about 30 minutes then gone.
No temperature, marks, lumps or bumps. Both legs look the same and no different to normal.
She is generally quite sporty but has not been trying for around 7 weeks due to holidays. Training for hockey, netball and football all restarted over the last week or so.
Any thoughts??

Hi

I took my daughter to GP yesterday due to pains in her legs, she’s been having them for months now and she’s 13. I held off taking her to the doctor because I thought they might be growing pains but wasn’t really sure. It kind of comes on during the day so she will often get home from school complaining of pain, always below the knee or her feet (not top part of leg like your daughter). The pain is usually gone by the morning. The nurse practitioner said she’s older than typical for growing pains so hoping they don’t last much longer. Did you find out what was wrong with your daughter?

Josie
