Is it any good, and is it suitable for a 10 year old?

Also want to know this.

Loved it. There's one part that I thought was really gruesome for a 12a 😱

Beepybopp · 08/09/2024 22:01

I saw it today and I don't think I'd take a 10 year old

I just took my 10 year olds today and they loved it. I was a bit worried at first but they just rolled their eyes at me when I asked if they were ok! I suppose it depends on the child. They had seen the first one and loved it and there's nothing worse in the sequel.

My 9 and 11 year old have seen the original and weren’t bothered by it. Is the sequel similar?

yeshimabet · 08/09/2024 22:18

@moralpanic Has your 10-year-old seen the first one?

PointerSister · 08/09/2024 22:20

Took my 9 and 11 year old today. It was fine. My DD was more scared of the first one tbh! Obviously depends on the children though. A few gruesome bits but Beetlejuice seems a bit nicer in this one 😂

Carelesswispalover · 08/09/2024 22:26

My 10 year old loved it but they aren't particularly sensitive, watched the new Ghostbusters and loves the first Beetlejuice too!!

Bellyblueboy · 08/09/2024 22:33

I was a if Dan of the original and took my 11 year old niece on Friday night. We loved it. Similar to original - of they were okay with the original they will be fine with the new one.

lots of younger kids in the cinema - no one had to leave!

My 12yo was holding my hand tightly through some gory bits but absolutely loved it and didn't have nightmares. 10yo pretty young I think.

Beetlejoos · 08/09/2024 22:36

My 11yo cried himself to sleep tonight after going to see it with a friend (and his parents) and has sworn never to go and see another horror film again. It affects different kids differently.
I can’t tell you what the film was like as I didn’t go but I do wish he hadn’t seen it.

TooManyNiblings · 08/09/2024 22:38

We saw it this morning and no way would I take my 10 year old! It's not just gory, there are some dark themes I wouldn't want to explain to her yet.
