Sudden and agonising back pain

I was digging a hole for a plant in the garden yesterday, stood up and something has gone in my back. I literally haven't been able to stand up right since. No pain killers are touching it at all (ibuprofen and naproxen).
What on earth have I done and what can I do about it?
I don't think I could even get myself to an and e at this point. I haven't slept at all and I feel nauseous it hurts so much.
111? Would they be able to help get some stronger painkillers somehow do you think?

It is so horrible - sorry you are going through this. Hopefully it will be muscular and settle with time. Mine was a herniated disc which had to be removed - but that did work for me thank good ness.

Diazepam is the answer if it is muscular and I hope the GP will be able to help you with that tomorrow and things will ease for you. Please be careful about taking 2 NSAIDs together - you will damage your stomach lining. If GP also gives you codeine/morphine. make sure you take a laxative at the same time or you will be struggling both to the loo and on the loo!

Iv just arrived at this thread in complete agony looking for advice. I bent down to pick up my daughter today and had excruciating pain in my back I heard a pop crunch sort of noise/feeling. I genuinely couldn't stand for ten mins.
Today it's agony to move but once I'm still it's bearable which I find very odd. Any slight movement it's killing me. I'm taking cocodamol and have a hot water bottle on but I just don't know what to do. Help!
