Am I weird

we live a long way from friends and family and something I’ve noticed is that when it’s time to say good bye (regardless if we visit or they come to stay) I feel nothing, or at least not as much as our friends and family. Often friends will cry or be very emotional. I obviously feel sad to say good bye but I don’t have that emotional response. I sometimes try to force my self to cry or show emotions. Am I weird !

Never seen anyone do that and never done it myself. I think maybe they are weird.

Not weird at all. I'd say crying while saying goodbye to someone you know you'll be seeing again in the future is a bit OTT. I don't know anyone who does that. Just warmly hug and thank them and say how much you enjoyed seeing them. Then feel happy that you saw them and had a nice time. Or a bit relieved as well as having visitors/visiting is quite tiring. No matter how much you love them!
