Hair removal cream

Basically I’m too much of a wuss to get waxed because of the pain. And I’ve only shaved once down there about 15 years ago and hated the bumps, rash and itch I got. Since then I’ve trimmed periodically mainly during bikini season.
After some tipsy shenanigans with friends last night it’s come to my attention that fellas expect a certain standard when it comes to grooming your you know what. I’m thinking hair removal cream is a good option but is it safe to use on your hooha and other sensitive areas. Any brands recommendations, I know veet do one so I’m tempted by that. Xx

Fuck what "fellas expect"!
Don't change yourself to suit the wants or ideal image of anyone else, most men (emphasis on the MEN) in my experience actually prefer a natural woman, they don't want a Barbie.

If you're set on using it, Nair gives you chemical burns and smells horrific. Veet is a good one but again smells pretty bad.

Fontainebleau007 · 07/09/2024 16:53

Sod what "fellas" think! Do what you want with your body!!
I just trim and use hair removal cream around bikini line. I use Veet and Nair but I agree with pp, they smell awful lol and don't leave it on too long... ouch!

DingDongDell70 · 07/09/2024 16:56

If you decide to use Veet or any other hair removal cream, only use it on your labia majora. Do not get it on your mucous membranes. It burns.

Just shave it, maybe you had a bad razor last time. It shouldnt cause a rash.

longdistanceclaraclara · 07/09/2024 17:03

'Fellas expect'?! Fuck that.

Anyway do you what you want, veet stinks, and is patchy. If you do go down that route don't mistake the tube for toothpaste without contact lenses in...

stayathomer · 07/09/2024 17:04

Why would men care what it’s like down there if they’re getting some iykwim?

I have also mistake it once for toothpaste 🙈

Because men and women both care. Not many people like 2 inches of 80's bush in their face.

There’s a middle ground between 2 inches of 80s bush and completely bald like you’ve not reached puberty yet… and it can be achieved with a simple pair of scissors.

True, true, but if you're going to go to the bother of trimming it you may as well go the whole hog and get rid of the hair round the labia, leave some on the top if you must.

FuckThePoPo · 07/09/2024 17:12

Blokes are extremely lucky to get within sniffing distance in the first place!

Who died and made you Bush Boss?

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 07/09/2024 17:15

Most men don't care, tidy is expected on both sides. Few people realistically want full bush anywhere. We all know what a drama it is if we get our hair in our mouths!

Lots of men are put off by bald, the ones that aren't porn fried. Keep it trimmed if you don't want to shave, saves you from ingrown hairs and chemical burns and various other irritations. It's your hooha, you decide the landscaping.

If you do want to attempt the complete hair removal, try shaving powder rather than hair removal creams. Formulated for beards, get the sensitive stuff and test it on your thigh first for timing.

Or electric trimming devices designed for that purpose.

Oooh ok that might be better since you don’t need shaving cream for those right? So less chance of razor bumps etc

I use this mainly for holidays etc.
It’s sensitive. I’ve never had burns. Whack it on, leave for 10 mins, shower off & shove a load of moisturiser on.

I know I shouldn’t change for anyone. But sometimes I feel self conscious. On Friday after some drinks with friends and the conversation got spicy I found out I was the only one who didn’t take care of my fanny hair. The blokes who were with us said they had never been with a girl who wasn’t completely bare down there and they definitely preferred it that way.

I need to meet some of those men though 🤣. But I’m going to try who knows maybe I’ll prefer it and if not then I don’t have to keep up with doing it.

Haha yes that’s true I definitely don’t like going down on a guy if he has a full on forest so that makes me slightly hypocritical. Not that I’m getting any anyway lol.

never heard of shaving powder, will definitely look at that as an option I’ll just have to make sure I get something fanny appropriate

That’s the exact one I was looking at. I’m glad someone has had good experience with it

@NotyouraverageAimee

i used to get it all waxed off, I prefer it that way, believe me, I don't look like a prepubescent child. It hurt far less than my lower leg!!

but my fabulous waxing lady moved away & I didn't want to go to anyone else. Partner at the time didn't have a preference either way, which made it easier not to bother

most men I've been with since prefer the natural look (but I'm 'older' 55, so that's probably less common in younger people)

but as I prefer it 'all off' I've tried various home options. I don't like the cream (though used it for a long time) as it hurts like fuck if you leave it too long & is ineffective if not long enough! And it seemed to vary each time rather than being. Consistent thing. Right bloody faff.

current partner would prefer it if I did have a proper '80s bush, but I don't grow like that 🤣🤣so he has to 'make do' with it just natural 🤷🏻‍♀️

if we split up I'd probably start getting just a bikini wax & maybe build up to the full wax if I found someone I was comfortable with.

you could try different waxes/people/salons it really shouldn't be that painful.

but don't try waxing yourself. That HURTS!
