Nurses/HCAs/ward staff! What would you appreciate as a thank you?

Hi!

I've just been discharged after a week as an inpatient. Every single person working on the ward, from the nurses and HCAs to the guys serving food and drinks and cleaning and so on, were unfailingly kind, helpful, upbeat and professional, even when clearly run off their feet (and for a few memorable days/nights, dealing with a VERY disruptive/challenging patient on the ward...).

I really want to show my appreciation - would just a box of chocolates or biscuits for the staff room be the safest bet? Anything else you'd appreciate?

Thanks!

Cards naming people if there are any standouts as they can use them for revalidation.

Boxes of chocs and biscuits are very much appreciated, as are fruit baskets. Mainly things that can be grabbed in passing (like chocs can) so grapes, satsumas.

Thanks! The problem with naming people is that there were so many and while there were a couple that were standout I'd be worried about offending the others... they were all great!

I'll swing by Teaco later and see what jumps.put at me. A general card is a good idea though 😊

Nice tea/coffee is always welcome.
You can’t go wrong with biscuits either.

I went with a card and a tub of celebrations when I was in. They seemed to be appreciated.

Cheers guys! I just got chocs and a card in the end - bit unimaginative maybe but I figure you can't go too badly wrong.

And to you NHS workers on this thread, thanks for all you do! You really are superstars 😊
