Lightbulb help

I don't understand lightbulbs anymore!

My light says max 30w. The bulbs say 4.3w=50w. I'm assuming that my lightbulbs are 4.3w and well within the maximum wattage... But are they?

So I'm guessing the reason your light has a wattage limit is simply to stop it from getting too hot (from an old style bulb, where more light = more heat). Newer LED bubs do get hotter with wattage but nothing like to the same extent as old style bulbs, so you could pobably slam in a 100W equivalent LED bulb and it would be fine.

Er... for gawds sake don't hold me to that! And I take absolutely no responsibility for anything I write being correct or accurate!
